Development And Advocacy

Our development initiatives focus on poverty alleviation and economic empowerment. We offer start-up capital and training for small businesses, equipping young entrepreneurs with the skills and resources they need to succeed. Through our social entrepreneurship platform, MONGO-na-BENUE, we catalyze sustainable growth and create opportunities for rural youths to contribute economically to their communities. This program aims to foster self-reliance and long-term prosperity.

By integrating these programs, RAYD strives to create a holistic support system that addresses the diverse needs of rural youth, enabling them to achieve their full potential and contribute positively to their communities.

RAYD is a local non-profit youth-centred organisation and development advocacy is an important pillar of our organisation’s work.
We conduct our advocacy efforts in a non-confrontational and nonpartisan way.
Through this program, RAYD links up with other locally-based organisations to contribute and participate in the monitoring and evaluation of state-sponsored projects, as well as other projects allocated to rural zones of Cameroon.
Our strategy includes entering into partnerships with local councils, public and private stakeholders to freely provide RAYD with information on projects allocated to the council area.

We conduct advocacy at community, local and national levels.
Access to information is an obstacle to youth participation in development. In response, we plan to launch a national campaign called BuildCameroon. This involves building a website which shall be used to record projects allocated to the different rural communities in Cameroon. Through this site, the youth organisations in their different localities then sensitise the local populations on the type, nature and timing of projects that are to be executed in their localities. The whole community gets involve in the monitoring and evaluation of the project. Feedback on the projects is then reported through the website. And where there is evidence that any project is not being executed to standard, RAYD shall work with the community concern to send a formal complaint to the State department concern.
